What happens after my website goes live?

After launch, Caged Fish can continue to support the website with monitoring, maintenance, backups, updates, security checks and ongoing development. Training and handover are also provided where appropriate.

Is launch the end of the project?

It is usually the start of the site’s operational life. Search performance, user behaviour, content and business requirements change over time, so a website benefits from ongoing review rather than being left untouched for years.

What should happen immediately after launch?

Important journeys, forms, tracking, indexing and redirects should be checked so issues are found quickly. Established sites may also need migration monitoring in Search Console.

Can you keep improving the site?

Yes. Ongoing work can include content changes, new functionality, performance improvements and SEO.

What should be monitored after launch?

Forms, tracking, search visibility, redirects, uptime and important user journeys should all be checked once the live site is in use. On ecommerce or membership sites, checkout, account areas, scheduled tasks and integrations also need attention because problems there may not be obvious from the homepage.

How soon should the site be reviewed again?

That depends on the project, but the first weeks after launch are useful for spotting real-user issues, unexpected search changes and content gaps. Longer-term reviews can then look at analytics, search performance, conversions and new business requirements rather than relying only on assumptions made before launch.

What happens to future improvements?

They can be prioritised through ongoing support or scoped as separate development work. That might include new landing pages, integrations, ecommerce features, accessibility improvements, speed work or SEO activity as the business evolves.
