We have just launched a new CMS site for Stockwood Consulting. Stockwood Consulting provide training and support services to residential and domestic care companies, Primary Care and other health related organisations. The site was custom built within the Word Press platform and offers control of the whole content of the site by Stockwood Consulting who have been using the CMS for just over a week now and already have tripled the number of pages in their site.

Dent removal Leicester company Dent Technique have been working with Caged Fish web design over the last two years. Initially it was to help with the SEO and news sections of the site. Two years on a site redesign has been completed. Dent Technique celebrate 10 years in business in 2009. The company go from strength to strength after launching their successful franchise operation.

Internet Explorer 6 was first released in August 2001, that makes it over 7 years old. To say it is the bane of our studio is an understatement. Whole rafts of code have to be put in just to drag this awful piece of software up to standards compliant code that makes websites appear as they should. It is antiquated beyond belief and should be killed off, however many people and organisations still use it, so it’s still with us, for now. Why?
There are lots of reasons…
- some people aren’t aware what a web-browser is (yes it’s Internet Explorer and others, see below)
- Some organisations are tied into IE6 as their intranets are written specifically for it
- some people are running pirated windows software
Really there is no excuse for running this software, all alternatives are free and take no time to instal they’re faster and safer.

Starting in 2010, iStock the popular stock image site will begin phasing out support for Internet Explorer 6 or lower. Why? Other than PC World Magazine ranking in the 8th worst tech product of all time, here’s thier top 5 reasons to upgrade:
- Security continues to be an issue with this legacy browser. We want people browsing to be safe!
- It’s slow. Too slow. It’s orders of magnitude slower than modern, efficient browsers.
- It’s non-standards compliant. This means our developers have to develop an almost completely different version of iStock to run on it.
- It doesn’t properly support cool new functionality that you are asking for, and we want to deliver.
- Alternatives are free, fast and easy to download:

They equate not upgrading to…
Neglecting to upgrade your software is like choosing to face the enemy with a cardboard shield and a paper sword when you could have the latest Kevlar™ vest and ray gun. Just upgrade already!
So if you are still running IE6 please, please upgrade, it is in your best interests.
