Ozzy and Alchemy’s Coffin Bar

Fantastic news for one of our clients,  read the press review below…..

Things have been pretty hectic of late here at The Alchemy Studios. Particularly so in the design and cabinet-making workshops, as our exclusive Elegy Brand Furniture has really captured some imaginations of late, and designers are burning the midnight oil over some new blueprints.

For those not familiar with Elegy, it’s Alchemy’s bespoke brand of Gothic and eccentric furnishing and interiors, in woods and other traditional materials, designed and handcrafted to order. (For images and info, check out the Elegy site at: www.alchemyopusmagnus.com/elegy.htm )Current projects include a bar for a new West End restaurant, and a full, gothic bedroom suite, complete with a massive and decadent, carved, four-poster bed, while past commissions have included a eight-seater dining suite headed by a skull-throne fit for a Carpathian count. The flagship of the range, however, remains the 1.5 tonne solid, carved-oak ‘Highgate’ tomb-coffin bar, a macabre device which not only looks impressively eerie, but is mechanised so by remote control, the lid slowly and silently rises up to reveal the emerging serving counter. If the dining suite is fit for a count, then we reckon this is fit for the Prince of Darkness himself! Some of the organisers behind the Brits appear to agree, and last minute negotiations are currently under way to secure the late services of The Highgate Coffin Cocktail Cabinet, for the appearance of everybody’s favourite Prince of Darkness and his equally famous wife at the upcoming Awards in London. As they say, watch this space…
